Delamode secures new ecommerce fulfilment customer

Delamode, a specialist ecommerce service provider, is pleased to announce that it has secured a major new e-fulfilment contract with home furnishing brand, Amara Living Limited.

Established in 2005, Amara’s online store is one of the fastest growing and most highly regarded Home Furnishings websites in the UK.  Amara, originating in Essex, was created out of a desire to combine the best designer products with excellent customer service.

packaging Delamode will maintain and operate all aspects of the e-commerce function, including order processing, warehousing, picking, packaging, inventory control and distribution from our fulfillment facility in Essex.

Amara made a decision to outsource its ecommerce fulfilment to Delamode due to our track record servicing customers in this sector, as well as having a large bespoke facility that can cater for the current needs and expected growth over the coming years. The move has enabled the team at Amara time and capacity to focus on delivering the strategic vision resulting in exponential growth over the next five years. Delamode has constructed a dedicated floor for the operation and established a shelving layout to optimise the picking process, which is fully mapped out on to a stock management system, ensuring the picking process follows the most efficient route. Not only has the move improved the overall efficiency of the fulfilment process, but it has also provided Amara with a linear cost base model, which has the capacity for growth without commitment for high fixed cost and new premises.

Seamless integration

During the course of the August bank holiday weekend, over 450 pallets loaded on to 17 trailers were packed, scanned from Amara’s old facility and carefully loaded and then unpacked, scanned and relocated to the shelving on the 20,000sqft, 7m high mezzanine floor, that had been custom designed by Delamode. Both the Delamode and Amara teams worked tirelessly to ensure each of the 50,000 items were scanned and relocated to their correct shelving location, ready for orders placed over the bank holiday, to be picked, packed and dispatched to ensure all of Amara’ customers received their orders on time.
