Group expands use of warehouse management system

International freight management company Xpediator Plc, has rolled out the use of Access’ WMS (warehouse management system) across several of their sites.

Delamode International Logistics, Braintree, Essex, has already seen success with the Access Delta WMS, being part of the initial implementation.

As a Group Xpediator Plc is committed to providing dynamic supply chain solutions and innovation within a global market, focusing on outstanding quality and customer care excellence. The group operates 90,000 SQM warehousing across 38 offices and sites in the UK and Central Eastern Europe.

Since first implementing Access warehouse management system into the Group’s facility in Braintree, Essex in 2016, the company has seen significant gains in both efficiency and accuracy on the warehouse floor and reporting visibility across the operation.

Ricky Wiggins, Warehousing and Logistics Functional Owner, Xpediator Plc explains ‘Access have a real pedigree in the 3rd party logistics sector and an excellent brand reputation. Since working with them at our first implemented site in Braintree I’ve developed a fantastic relationship with the Access team and as a group, we have seen huge benefits thanks to the system. The bottom line is that Access WMS delivers cost and time-saving for both us and our customers.’

As a result of the success of the first implementation at the Braintree site, Xpediator has chosen Access as a global strategic partner, and have now begun to roll Access’ warehouse management system out across several more sites.

As well as efficiency, visibility and reporting have been another big win for the Xpediator team and one they only expect to see grow as the usage of the system expands throughout the group.

Ricky adds, ‘One of the things I love about the Access WMS system is that we’ve been able to integrate it with PowerBI. The Access team helped us set this up, and it’s meant that we can access a single, integrated database across our operations. We don’t have to be on-site to interrogate the data and can pull reports from anywhere in the world.’

Xpediator has also been keen to take advantage of the developments Access are continually adding to the warehouse management system offering, such as the introduction of Mintsoft software. ‘Integrations used to take us a long time, but since introducing Mintsoft we can integrate with customers and couriers on a same-day basis. That’s just one of the benefits of that software, so we’ve now added Mintsoft into our wider roadmaps and are implementing it across our sites.’

Rob Hodgson, product specialist at Access, comments on the relationship with Xpediator ‘I’m so pleased Xpediator have had such fantastic success using Access’ 3PL WMS suite. They have truly taken ownership of the software. Ricky and the team have invested time to build a strong partnership with Access, to understand exactly how the software works and how they can get the most from it. They continue to reap fantastic benefits with the recent purchase of Mintsoft and I’m excited to see what they continue to achieve as they further expand their use of the software globally.’
